Triangle NC Home sales UP 5 Percent in October!

As we head into a typically slower time of year for home sales, this is reflected in the decrease in pending sales.  Sellers -  buyers are out there and looking, so don't hesitate to get your home on the market now rather than wait.  Less competition is pushing up prices and homes are selling in fewer than 2 months!

Although Triangle inventory levels are at historic lows, the most acute shortages are for homes priced under $300,000 in the most desirable neighborhoods in places such as Apex, Cary, Holly Springs, North Raleigh and inside the Beltline.  If this is your home -- I have many qualified buyers for you!

Your Chance to Speak Out on Proposed 540 Routes!

The NC Department of Transportation wants to complete the final loop of Route 540, also called the Triangle Expressway and they want to hear from you!
The Federal Highway Administration has signed off on an environmental impact statement for the project and now it’s your turn to weigh in on the proposed routes for the highway.
Three public meetings and one formal hearing will take place next month.  The first public meeting will be at Barwell Road Elementary School in Raleigh on December 7.  The next day, December 8, NCDOT officials will meet with the public at Holly Springs High School in Holly Springs.  On December 9, NCDOT will hold a public meeting and formal hearing at Wake Tech Community College in the Student Services Building.
This last section of 540 will extend from the NC 55 Bypass in Apex to the US 64/US 264 Bypass in Knightdale.  One of the proposed routes, the “Red Route” has drawn a great deal of public opposition because it would take the highway through a heavily developed portion of Garner, including several subdivisions.  The route is included in the environmental impact study as one of the possible alternatives.  State and local officials have said it will not be included in the final plan.
In 2011, state lawmakers sought to ban NCDOT from studying the Red Route, but the FHA said North Carolina would have to forgo federal funding for the project if it wasn’t included.  The General Assembly was ultimately forced to repeal the law banning the Red Route in 2013.
Mark your calendar to attend one (or all) of these meetings so you can see how these routes may affect your neighborhood and express your opinion.
